The building it self was old but it was kept tidy and neat. You can enjoy the antique atmosphere.
Temperature adjustment of the shower was difficult.

Hit or miss, depending on your needs. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is fantastic. We are members at the British Museum and were there to see some special exhibitions. With that said, when we return in a few months for another event at the Museum, we will not be staying here again.
Be prepared for stairs. My wife and I are in our 60's and we booked one of the smaller rooms. They put us on the 3rd floor. There are 59 steps (my wife counted) and the floors are uneven. The climb was difficult for her, but the hotel was full and we were there for several days, so we were stuck. My fault for not verifying that we could be on a lower floor, but be aware. The room photos did not really match the room. A\C worked great in the warmer weather, but there were toilet flush issues. Peeling wallpaper and stained floors suggest that there has not been a proper maintenance refresh on the property for quite some time.
Breakfast was good, but after several days it was somewhat monotonous. Not their fault. They are probably more used to 1-3 night guests. After a couple of mornings, we just ended up grabbing a light breakfast elsewhere.
Bottom line, we felt that it was not a bad place necessarily, but for the price paid it was not really a good value. It really depends on what you are looking for.
