The location is absolutely beautiful, and our massage experience was genuinely unbeatable. We waited until the last day, and the massages were hands down the best service we received all stay. The therapists were exceptional, professional, and the setting was incredible. The spa was easily the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, the resort itself does not come close to matching the price or experience portrayed online. At $795 a night, we expected cleanliness, service, and attention to detail. Instead, there was garbage left throughout the property—we saw the same sauce container for three days. Our room was serviced, but fresh towels weren’t replaced, so we had to call and request them. At the pool, we waited roughly 20 minutes for towels. There was a noticeable lack of communication between staff, and the operation felt disorganized and neglected. The staff experience was especially disappointing. The young people running the kayaks routinely walked past guests with headphones in without acknowledging us. No greeting, no eye contact, no sense that anyone was paying attention. It did not feel like a luxury resort; it felt like an expensive summer camp. The property is also in serious need of maintenance and upgrades. There is no room service, and the restaurant operates at extremely limited capacity. Rockwater has everything needed to be incredible: an unbeatable location, beautiful tents, and an extraordinary spa setting. But the execution is simply not there.

Unless management makes some changes, I would recommend this hotel be avoided. It is clear that once upon a time, it was a fantastic getaway. However, it has become dated and not well-maintained. Even worse, we found it to be overall dirty. The deck desperately needs a new coat of paint. There were many features of our room that were broken, including the closet door, bedside lights, and shower. Given the high number of toddlers around, I was constantly worried about the pool gate, which did not automatically lock. It was often kept open, which felt like a tragedy waiting to happen. We were a bit dismayed by how dirty the property was. There was an old water jug with lemons left out from a previous wedding that looked to be over a week old, none of the patio tables were wiped down, there was the same trash on the floor the entire time that we were there, glasses were never cleared away from the patio. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. The property has a ton of potential, it just seems like no one cares....
