The space Built by the Nettles family at a prominent Cape Girardeau location, this home has been a part of the city landscape for over 130 years. Having been a family home for many decades, the structure subsequently housed multiple businesses undergoing several interior changes. In 2016, designer Terry McDowell set about restoring the structure to its noble past. The vaulted kitchen ceiling nods to the contemporary and features a double stainless sink, dishwasher, disposer, microwave drawer, full sized range and refrigerator/freezer. Located on the main floor is a living room, dining room, powder room, front balcony and rear deck with dining table and chairs. Two bedrooms and bath are located on the second floor. The master bedroom faces the Mississippi River and has a queen size bed, dresser and seating area in the bay window. The second bedroom is fondly called the "Cowboy Room" featuring equine memorabilia and has a full size bed and armoire. As most historical homes the bedrooms do not have closets so a small area for hanging clothes has been added to the master and the armoire of the second bedroom will accommodate hanging clothes. The bath features a restored clawfoot tub beneath a converted gaslight chandelier, a walk-in shower and a single vanity with lots of space. Reaching the second floor requires climbing the remarkable, slightly steep stairs. Beautiful accessories, art, drapery and converted gaslight chandeliers complement the historic architectural features. We hope you will enjoy and appreciate saving this historic home.
