The space
High bank waterfront island home in peaceful neighborhood with wooded areas and overlooking Carr Inlet. The expansive view includes Carr Inlet across which you see McNeil Island, the Key Peninsula and further away, Tacoma and Steilacoom. We often see bald eagles, osprey, several types of hawks, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, finch, nuthatch, and other birds. Deer and raccoon frequent the area as well.
We are within driving distance (15 min) of Gig Harbor where you'll find shopping, restaurants, theatre, coffee shops, marina, etc. Tacoma is a 20-30 min drive. Seattle is about a 1 hour drive. Within driving distance (day trips) of Olympic National Park, Mt. Rainier, State Parks, Canadian border, several ferry-accessible island areas and more. The space is not well suited for children.

There is an available full size mattress for use on the floor, if needed.

The island offers a fishing pier, historical museum, small grocery store which also houses our local pub " Zogs", a gas station, 2 churches, post office, coffee kiosk, community center, fire station, public beach, and public boat launch.

This is a basement apt. We live directly above the apt, so you will hear 'sounds of life'. We have a small dog as well.

There is a small VHS player/screen and VHS movies in the living rm area. No TV or cable service. Wifi is available.

If you are part of a group (for example 2 couples), our neighbors directly across the street also have a small apartment available - please contact me for the name of their Airbnb listing.

Guest access
There are cement stairs with safety railings, leading to other stairs to the entrance of the apartment from the gravel parking area and around to the back of the house where the private entrance to the apartment is, (approximately 15 stair steps total). Guests will have access to the parking area, entire apartment, the cement patio area in front of the apt, garden and the backyard.

Other things to note
Please be sure you indicate the correct number of guests coming, as the default setting for number of guests automatically states number as 1. If you are reserving the apt for more than 1 guest, you need to manually change that to the correct number. No unregistered guests are allowed. This is due to AirBnB insurance policy which states only the number of guests on original reservation are covered.

There are 2 sets of stairs leading to the apartment's private entry; a total of approx. 15 stair steps. Guest parking is the graveled area to the left of garage. Please comply with the 15 MPH speed limit on our road.
