Nestled in one of the most beautiful locations in the Colorado Rocky mountains, this retreat suits writers, academics, and nature lovers, making a great base for hiking, backpacking, and skiing and a wonderful destination after a busy day in Boulder.

Oct - Apr Guests: Please expect unpredictable weather including wind, snow, ice, sun, and big temperature swings, that you can enjoy from the comfort of a warm home.

The space
The space is open, and clutter free with lots of windows looking out on forest and mountain views. In July and parts of surrounding months, wildflowers abound. Those who are lucky might see moose, fox, a bobcat, or a bear out the windows.

Guest access
Guests have full private access to the house and driveway.

Other things to note
WITH NO TV or STEREO, the house suits guests who are seeking a tech vacation or are satisfied with Wifi (Century Link with example download speeds 14 and 28 mbps).

The Hessie trail and 4th of July Road start 1 mile up a dirt road from the house. The house is also in a central location for accessing a variety of front range climbing areas including Boulder Canyon which is ~10 minutes drive away.

In the winter, guests can snow shoe or back country ski from the house (when there is snowpack). Eldora Mountain Resort nordic and Alpine ski centers are 5 miles up the road.
