Located on the Little Choptank River, Cherry Point Farm is a 280-acre historic sporting estate with over 25,000 feet of shoreline and expansive grounds. Relax by the pool and enjoy the glorious sunset views. Children will love the enormous tree house, sweeping fields for games, playing on the beach, fishing, crabbing, and swimming off of the dock. By renowned designer Darryl Carter and featured in House Beautiful, the home is a spectacular and relaxing place to spend the week.
The space
There are four grills available for guest use. Two in the main house (a gas grill and a Green Egg), one gas grill in the boathouse that can be wheeled out to the beach area next to the dock and firepit, and one gas grill by the pool. Full propane tanks will be provided at check-in but will not be refilled. The gas grill at the main house is connected to the gas line and needs to be turned on and off with use. There are two full kitchens-one on the first floor and one on the second floor.
The boathouse has 3 kid’s kayaks, a paddleboard, crab traps, and multiple fishing rods. To ensure proper sizing for your group, please bring your own life jackets, or we can recommend a rental agency.
The garage is equipped with a ping pong table, cornhole, two soccer goals, two lacrosse goals, and other games. There is a third refrigerator in there as well.
Fireplaces: This property has two wood-burning fireplaces in the upstairs living room and TV room. Please note fireplace in the master bedroom and second downstairs living room is not operable.
WiFi: Please note that the rural nature of the area limits the data access, and some properties can experience slow speeds or access limited to email and web browsing and not streaming.
Guest access
The guests will have access to the house, garage, boathouse, pool, firepit, beach, and dock. The pool is shared with one other family who is rarely in residence. There is an easement with a family that owns Cherry Point Island. Guests should not go into the other two houses on the property or the pole barn.
Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE: Our properties DO NOT allow group rentals to guests under the age of 25. No smoking. No pets or parties. Weddings and special events of any kind are not permitted due to local zoning ordinances. We are not responsible for amenity/event closures (no refunds given).
WHAT'S PROVIDED/WHAT TO BRING: Property includes bed and bath linens, beds made prior to your arrival, and a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwashing detergent. However, these supplies may not be enough for your whole stay - please plan accordingly. Guests will need to bring trash bags, napkins, laundry supplies, etc. Please bring your own pool towels, firewood, and life jackets if you plan to use the kayaks and paddleboards. Firewood located on the property may be used by guests but may not be enough for the length of stay.
