There are two thermostats in the house. The main one is on the first level in the dining room with heat and air. This thermostat heats/cools the downstairs and up to the 4th bedroom. The second thermostat is in the living room above the garage and is heat only. We keep the windows open and have fans available to keep that side of the house cool.
