Come camp on our our land! With 5 acres of cedar and pine forests, rolling fields, cliff face gardens and mountaintop views, this land is a deeply restorative place to connect with nature and the senses. Come tune in with nature and see the process of living off the grid! If you don’t have a tent, please inquire with us about using one of ours.
The space
This space is located in the woods on the upper part of the mountain, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valley. A dirt road leads up the hill to a secluded opening in the woods with a meadow where you can park. The woods are full of moss, shaded by a diverse forest with tall pines, oaks, cedars, ash, and more. Wildflowers, fungi, birds, wine berries, salamanders, and an abundance of forage-able plants live here. 4-wheel drive is recommended for the driveway leading up the hill, or you can park at the bottom and walk your things up. The mountain is large and has multiple areas to camp across the 5 acres with the possibility of others camping nearby as well, though so far we haven’t had any double bookings.
The land is a mix of old growth forest, steep hills, cliff faces, and rolling grassy areas on the lower end of the property.
You are welcome to explore the property and observe nature, the gardens, and the layout of the land. Please see our guidelines for experiencing this ecosystem in a way that does no harm to the land and preserves the moss, forest growth, and natural processes at play here.
The farm is a work in progress as we learn about permaculture principles and put them into practice, with the goal of getting to know the plants and soil and experimenting with natural building techniques to nourish the land as we grow our own food and nourish ourselves and our community.
Chickens, guineas, and cats (we often have kittens) are some of the residents you will meet around the farm.
Wildlife such as deer, birds, salamanders, spring peepers, and honey bees call this place their home.
