Stayed in the in a room in the gables, first night there was an awful noise coming from the corner of the room. Didn’t sleep well at all. I did enquire to see if something could be done about it but said it may be the air on from the cellars. I wonder weather it was a fan left on from the room below who knows !!! It was less noisy the second night.
It’s a quirky old pub in Stow and there was what looked like mould in one of the corners as the room was in the gables of building. I could smell it through the air freshener.
Bed was clean, tidy and comfy plus nice tea and coffee. Didn’t use tv. Staff were nice. A mixed review really but probably won’t stay again despite them mentioning the free earplugs in room.

Stayed here for one night recently found the staff very friendly , the room was very nice but was quite small , location was amazing definitely worth a visit. Definitely go back and stay here again

Well located right in the Market Square. Very old but beautifully appointed with all the modern conveniences including a robust WiFi and massive free-standing tub n shower.
We were on an upper floor and getting there (with luggage) was challenging. The host escorted us (and helped with the bags) the first time up, as the route is quite convoluted.
Pub and dining were also excellent.
Would stay there again.
Nothing to do with the Stag, but Uber may not come to Stow-on-the-Wold. (They didn’t for us as we planned to leave. Host suggested bus to train and trains to destination)
