Our stay at the hotels interesting. The front desk and valet staff were wonderful. The valet drivers were all very chatty and friendly, and they did a good job with luggage and making guests feel welcome immediately upon arrival. The hotel is lovely when you walk into the grand lobby, and the rooms are very clean. However the rooms are also very old. This is not a new building. The elevator felt a little scary, not going to lie. One of the more interesting aspects of our room was the clothesline. There's a clothes line in the tub! Like, in the middle of the wall, definitely not designed to be a shower curtain. We had gone to a sports event where we were completely soaked through, even our rain jackets, but having a closed line was incredibly helpful!! I liked that our windows opened, however, the thermostat could not cool our room sufficiently. We tried to set it to 68F, but there was no way it was below 70F. It also was humid. This is a big deal to us, especially in the summer when we've been walking around and want to cool down. There were plenty of surfaces in the room for our bags. Hotels don't do luggage racks anymore, but this had a bunch of surfaces: a dresser, a desk, a coffee table, and a couch. The end tables next to the bed were full size end tables to fit everything you could need, even a CPAP. Overall it was a very nice stay, but the weak A/C in June was enough to take the rating down.

I stayed at the Fairmont for my birthday and attended the BTS concert. All staff that we encountered from the bellmen outside, check in, cleaning staff were all friendly and always asked how our stay has been going. I met the director of the hotel in the elevator and he also introduced himself and if we needed anything, to mention him. 10/10 for all staff. Our room and bathroom were very clean upon arrival and spacious as well and didn’t feel like we were on top of each other and had room to move around and get ready. I also loved the signature Le Labo scent for the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here the next time I’m in Chicago!
