Took a long time for staff to come to the reception so that I could check in. The room was ok. After that I just showered, slept and left in the morning. so had no further interaction with anyone in the hotel.

We only booked this hotel out of necessity after working at a festival. We had a team with us and needed two rooms, and after a very long day we did not feel it was safe to drive home exhausted on the motorway. It was within our limited budget and, had we had another suitable option, we would not have stayed here. We arrived quite late and had to ring a doorbell to gain entry, as there was nobody immediately available. The property was very dark and, even in the morning, it was clear that the building was extremely rundown and poorly maintained. It looks as though it may once have been a beautiful and impressive property, but it desperately needs some TLC and investment. Sadly, it currently feels unloved and has no real character or identity. The rooms themselves were large and spacious, which was one positive. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major concern. The toilet and bathroom were dirty, and there were hairs on the floor and carpet. My room had a kettle but no cups, tea, coffee or other basic provisions. Eventually, a gentleman came to the desk and was pleasant and helpful. He had good customer service and genuinely tried his best to provide us with what we needed, including cups, despite telling us the hotel was fully booked. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay. We were simply grateful to have somewhere to sleep safely after a long and exhausting festival day. I would strongly recommend that the owners invest in the property, improve the cleanliness

On arrival the place looked almost derelict, no lock on entrance to reception, no one around, finally got key after walking up and down corridors with locks on doors the ones open were disgusting, kitchen was empty and certainly not in use although it stated there was a bar and restaurant!. Room was very dated, dirty, leaking tap and floor was dirty, old towel left hanging on door, tried to move tv and it started coming off the wall, kettle had dust on it and wasn't clean. No staff to be seen anywhere. Went to another hotel for drink and found out the hotel had been closed for yrs and had only just been re-opened and was undergoing work!!!! Later in the evening after returning to the place the door was wide open no staff, place seemed empty. When leaving spotted what was supposed to be the swimming pool. Pool was empty and was filthy!!! It looks like they have tried to tidy a few rooms up, the word TRIED just to get some money in. Disgusting!!!!
