My booking was for a Monday evening. When I checked in they told me that there is no food available on Monday evenings. This is not stated anywhere on the hotels.com listing and the hotel didn’t email me to tell me. I would have stopped somewhere else had I known.
I also requested to pay onsite and yet my credit card was debited as soon as the booking was made. I queried that with hotels.com who never gave me an answer, when I checked in the hotel said to me that they saw I wanted to pay onsite so could they take my payment details, I had to show my credit card payments to show them that they had already charged me.
Finally the room (which was super comfy) needed a good clean, there was substantial thick dust under the bed and the heated towel rail in the bathroom was extremely unclean.
Such a shame as a location and setting this hotel has it all but I was sadly and badly let down.

Very welcoming staff. Room was very comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast was basic.. Continental.. not great when you are gluten free
Arrived back at hotel about 1020 soaking wet but bar, lounge etc. all closed no staff around so couldn’t get a hot drink and dry off before heading to room.
Despite this it’s a lovely little place to stay
