The Captain's Quarters is a master suite located in a nice quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Scarborough. It is close to the beaches, lighthouses and downtown Portland. This suite is set up like a small studio with its own door, a master bedroom, private bathroom and cozy dining area. We are Maine natives and live in the house. We love the area we live in and like to make ourselves available for advice on all the great sights and food the Portland area has to offer.
The space
Life in Maine has always been linked to the water, whether it be Maine's plentiful lakes or the vast Atlantic Ocean. We wanted to create a space that captured this nautical theme. The space consists of a kitchenette and dining space, a bedroom with sitting area, a large closet, and a private 3/4 bath.
Guest access
Our guest have a parking spot under the maple tree in our driveway and enter through our homes main entrance. The main entrance opens to our formal dining room which separates our family’s personal living space and the stairwell that goes to the large private suite above the garage. From the formal dining room guests can access the laundry room, deck and backyard. We like to encourage guests to take advantage of the backyard while with us. Please feel free to wander through the gardens, there’s a grill, outdoor dining, hammock under the grape arbor, seasonal vegetable garden, a swing set for our youngest guests, and a huge fire pit that you are more than welcome to utilize during their stay.
