The space
Follow a lighted gravel path around the main house to the back door where a private, separate, locking, entrance door to the apartment is located through the main back door. A shared common porch area will lead to nine stair-steps down to the well-furnished Studio apartment. Inside there is a gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen with dishes, drink ware, silverware, napkins, knives, pots, pans and utensils. Microwave oven and electric stove are there with toaster, coffeemaker, and mixing/storage bowls.

There is also a separate bathroom behind a pocket door with shower and tub. Living space contains a 2 easy chairs, Queen bed, TV, internet connectivity, writing or computer desk, and a breakfast bar with stools. Loads of cabinets to store your personal items and a large closet that can double as a private sleeping area with the optional air mattress.

Suitcases will fit under the Queen bed. There is overflow heat from the main house gas furnace, three installed electric heaters, a fan on the gas fireplace, and 2 electric fans to circulate air and regulate the temperature for your comfort. All the windows open, close and lock. Because the Apartment is very well-insulated, it stays warm in the winter and much cooler in the hot summer months.

Other amenities include clock radio with alarm, customary bath toiletries, extra towels and blankets, hair dryer, night light, an ironing board with iron upon request. Please, just ask if you are in need of anything you may have forgotten! Coffee and tea are complimentary, and there may be some simple snacks available for the first night.

With full access to the large fenced yard, there are Adirondack chairs in the front yard you may use to view boating and other activity over the Lake. There is a seaplane terminal in the neighboring town of Kenmore and in the summer, there are hot air balloons for hire. Bird activity is common as well as watching the beautiful sunrises over the Lake in the summertime with your favorite cup of coffee in hand. Guests may also use the small backyard patio with cafe' table/chairs or the chaise lounge chairs on the lawn. Another option you may also find are some tree stumps under the large trees in the yard to settle-in upon as you enjoy the outdoors and fresh air.

Winter-time in Seattle is often cold and rainy with occasional spectacular days of sun, wind, hail, snow, or all the above! It is HIGHLY recommended to RENT A CAR as walking may not be the most convenient option. This a great upscale, suburban neighborhood, but the closest amenities (like shopping) are 10 blocks away!

Other things to note
The owner's residence is above you and as such you may hear footsteps or squeaking floors occasionally since the home is older. Quiet Time Hours are between 11pm to 7am daily. There will often be soft music playing or NPR at low volume throughout the day.

We also have 2 Siamese-Mix Cats who are very curious. They are never allowed in your unit (to help control allergens) but that doesn't mean they won't try! PLEASE be mindful of the back door access when you are entering or leaving; always keep ALL outside doors locked.

The fence to the backyard is attached directly to the house. This gate swings easily in the wind, sometimes unexpectedly slamming loudly throughout the house. Please be sure to close and firmly latch gently at all times. Thank you!
