Stay information

Admittedly, the Queen Charlotte Royal Cottage is not for everyone. This Airbnb location is intended to have guests experience the royal charm and vivacity of a Queen Anne--style mansion built 114 years ago. It is situated at the highest point of Rochester, the hot spot for Kodak’s innovations, cultural diversity, and park landscape architect designed by the famous Frederick Law Olmsted. Enjoy some of Rochester’s most prized local attractions just minutes from your stay.

The space
The Queen Charlotte Cottage will take you back in time. You can feel the period, early 1900's era. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful, and well insulated from the rest of the world. The favorite spot is the large porch where you can get lost and enjoy the gardens.

This charming Queen Charlotte style house with its cutaway bay windows framing the handsomely patterned chimney was originally built in 1919. The formal dining room sports a stunning Quoizel stained glass chandelier, which inspires the room's color scheme. This room boasts a lovely 1920's era dining room set, complete with hutch, sideboard, and tea table. Off the dining room are the butler's pantry and kitchen where many renovations took place. The kitchen has preserved many of the original fixtures, glass-paneled cabinetry, and double porcelain "Beauty Queen" sink.

The Queen Charlotte Cottage has comfortable Mission bedrooms accessorized with an assortment of antiques and a handsome fireplace. Each guest has a private bath. The English Rose bedroom shows and inviting, cozy retreat, highlighted by the original decorative gas fireplace. It has two small bedrooms creating a lovely master suite complete with a reading area and a master bath.

The Cottage Rose room is also Mission style and has a bathroom diagonally across the hall. Further down the hallway is the third guestroom, the Asian Orchid bedroom with deep reds, and oriental furnishing, this room is a sumptuous respite, complete with a full bath.

Guest access
